Ever since our weekly Tuesday Lunch ended last fall, we’ve had folks tell us they miss it!  Well, we do too. So, we’ll be hosting the occasional pop-up lunch, and we scheduled our first one to kick off Summer 2017.

Saying GoodBye to Tuesday Lunch

Winnie the Pooh - saying goodbyeOn Tuesday, Sept 27, we will be serving our final Tuesday Lunch here at The Culinary Center of Kansas City.  We have made great friends each Tuesday for many years, but it’s time to concentrate on our growing business.  We are thankful to each of you for helping us build these memories each Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., and we hope that you will continue to stop by and watch the progress on our expanding Kitchen Shop and Dinners on Demand program.

We hope you’ll join us any Tuesday in September (or all of them!) and help us celebrate years of community building and great food.

Help us end this month with some of your favorite Tuesday Lunch menus, Email marti@kcculinary.com and let us know what you’d like us to serve in the final two weeks. (We have the menu posted for this coming Tuesday – click here!)  We’ll look over the suggestions and pick out the most popular as we put together our menus.

Have you ever joined us at The Culinary Center for Kansas City on a Tuesday for our Staff Lunch?  If you haven’t, why not?  Seriously, we want to know.  Did you perhaps not even know that we offer lunch on Tuesday?  We wonder if our name is a bit confusing — Staff Lunch …(“Is it only for the CCKC Staff?”)  

We are thinking about changing it up.  New year, new lunch name, right?  Should we?  If so, what should we change it to?  We’d love to hear from you.  Just to make it more fun, we’ve decided to have a contest.  Come up with a winning new name for our Tuesday Staff Lunch and you’ll win, well …  Free Lunch (for 4 people!)  Email us your suggestions at marti@kcculinary.com. Staff LunchJSYK, the name “Staff Lunch” was originally chosen because many of you have told us over the years – “Wow, I bet your staff gets to eat well here!”  It pretty much smells great every day here and when folks walk in the door, they usually make such comments!  So, we decided to open our doors and give you the opportunity to eat like the CCKC Staff.  That was several years ago. 

It has been a great success, not to mention an awesome way to build community in Downtown Overland Park.  However, we think it might be time for a change up…or not!  Weigh in, will you?

Getting MORE with your lunch

Who doesn’t like to get more for their money, right?!  Well, we’re adding an element to our Tuesday Staff Lunch offering – we’re adding some culinary education!  We post our menu on our website each week, but now we’ll be posting more information and sometimes recipes here on the blog to boot.  Here’s the goods for our upcoming January 13, 2015 lunch. What’s The Dish On That Famous Dish?

Chicken Divan

The New York Chatham Hotel’s  Chef Lagasi created this elegant dish many years ago as part of a contest, winning a small amount of money and creating its Parisien Restaurant’s signature dish which would go on to become a great American classic.

THE MENU: Made with tender chicken, broccoli and almonds in a velvety Mornay Sauce, our Chicken Divan at Staff Lunch on Tuesday will be served with a colorful side dish that compliments it perfectly, soft dinner rolls and creamery butter.  For dessert another classic – German Chocolate Cake.

Tasty Tidbit:  “Divan” is a French word meaning a meeting place or great hall.  Join us for in our “divan” for Chicken Divan!
