CCKC Celebrates Brazil at Fair Trade Lunch

May 12, 2015

Today at our Tuesday Lunch, we will be celebrating Fair Trade Month in partnership with our neighbors at the Ten Thousand Villages store in Downtown Overland Park.  We are highlighting Fair Trade with Latin American by serving:

Brazilian Feijoada w/Cilantro and Orange
Black Beans and Rice

Fried Plantains
Creamy Flan

So, what is Feijoada and how to you say it?!   Try this for pronounciation: fei·jo·a·da \ˌfāzhəˈthə\
No matter how you say it, it’s delicious. The thick stew-like dish is a popular ‘celebration’ dish in Brazil and throughout South America. It’s often made with braised beef, pork and beans.

** We will be displaying a Fair Trade silent auction item that represents Latin America . Come check out the festivities and have an outstanding lunch! **

Come on over to The Culinary Center of Kansas City for Tuesday Lunch and give it a try!
